AEON SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE 2024–2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

Pursuant to the agreement between Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE) and the AEON 1% Club Foundation – Japan, the Foundation annually offers a number of scholarships to students of HCMUE. For the 2024 – 2025 academic year, the AEON 1% Club Foundation continues to grant scholarships to HCMUE students who are facing financial hardship and have demonstrated a strong commitment to academic advancement.

The International Cooperation Office is pleased to announce the following details regarding the AEON Scholarship

1. Program Overview:

 Initiated in 2006, the AEON Scholarship is an annual program by the AEON 1% Club Foundation offered in seven Asian countries. The project was established with the hope that scholarship recipients would serve as a bridge between their home countries and Japan in their respective areas of expertise.

In addition to financial support, the program offers recipients opportunities to participate in academic and volunteer activities aimed at fostering the development of future global talents.

2. Number, Value, and Duration of Scholarships:

 -Number of recipients: 08 students (an increase of 03 from the previous year)

-Scholarship value: USD 800 (increased by USD 365) per recipient. 

-Duration: The scholarship is awarded for two consecutive academic years, provided that the recipient maintains satisfactory academic performance.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

 -Be currently enrolled as a full-time third-year undergraduate student at HCMUE.

-Hold Vietnamese nationality.

-Come from a financially disadvantaged background.

-Maintain an academic performance rating of Good or above (equivalent to a grade of B to A on the letter grade scale, or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale).

-Not receive any other similar scholarships or financial aid according to current university regulations.

-Have no record of violations related to university regulations, public order, morality, or social norms.

-Not participate in any study-abroad programs lasting three months or longer during the scholarship period.

-Commit to attending the Scholarship Award Ceremony, tentatively scheduled for November 25, 2024, if selected.  

4. Application Documents:

-A copy of a certificate verifying status of poverty or near-poverty, or other documentation of financial hardship (if available)

-Academic transcripts for the most recent two academic years

-Copies of certificates of merit or proof of extracurricular involvement and achievements (if available)

-One short essay (approximately 500 words), written in either Vietnamese or English, on the topic: “Essential Qualities of Future Leaders”

5. Application Procedure:

 - Students must scan all required documents (mobile scanning apps are acceptable);

6. Application Deadline:

5:00 PM, Thursday, November 14th, 2024.
