MEETING WITH  ALABAMA EDUCATORS, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

On June 31st, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE) has a meeting with Alabama Educators, The United States of America and Alabama-Korea Education and Economic Partnership (AKEEP).

Participating the meeting, the representatives of Alabama State Senators and AKEEP are Honorable Mr. Arthur Orr, Honorable Mr. Bobby Singleton, Honorable Mr. J. Donnie Chesteen, Honorable Mr. Tim Melson, Honorable Mr. Steve Livingston, and Ms. Meesoon Han, Executive Director of AKEEP and other Alabama Educators.

The representatives of HCMUE are Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Son, President; Assoc. Prof. Pham Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Head of Graduate Studies Office; Mr. Le Phan Quoc, Deputy Head of Undergraduate Studies Office; Mr. Huynh Xuan Nhut, Deputy Head of International Cooperation Office; Dr. Thai Hoai Minh, Vice Dean of Chemistry Department; Dr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Dean of Information Technology Department; and other HCMUE’s lecturers.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Son, President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, delivers a welcoming speech and expresses his desire that through cooperative activities between the twos, HCMUE’s students will have the opportunity to comprehensively develop personal competency and qualities, bring good values to the society, help establish an effective learning community, and improve the quality of education and training, especially STEM education in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.

Ms. Meesoon Han representing AKEEP  shares her sincere thoughts about this cooperation opportunity. She hopes that after the meeting, the twos will discuss and consider signing a cooperation agreement in areas of mutual interest.

HCMUE, Alabama Educators and AKEEP has a fruitful meeting, in which the participants discuss education systems consisting of:

- Learning each other’s educational infrastructure

- STEM teacher shortage

- Training teacher programs (how Vietnam or Alabama K12 teachers earn their certification)

- Continuing professional development from internship program

- Establishing an educational relationship to benefit one another

- Others relevant information.

At the end of the meeting, delegates of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Alabama State Senators, Alabama Educators and AKEEP give each other meaningful gifts, and take group photos.

The meeting is closing opening opportunities to establish and implement many educational cooperation activities.
